Network Management

The ZPVP GmbH initiates and coordinates interdisciplinary networks and application-oriented R&D projects.

A network (also known as a cooperation network) is an association of at least six small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Other partners may also participate (e.g. university institutes, research institutes, large companies and other institutions such as associations). The aim of the cooperation is to jointly develop and market innovative products, processes or technical services in a technologically or regionally oriented network or along a value chain. There is no restriction on particular fields of technology and industries.

Organizational implementation of a network

The establishment of networks requires coordination and often also an impetus. This is where network promotion comes in. At federal level, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) supports the establishment of innovative networks through the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM, since 2009) by promoting competent management and organisational services oriented towards technology and business administration.

The ZPVP supports as a network manager in the conceptual preparation, application, and implementation of R&D projects in the network, the coordination of R&D activities and the marketing of R&D results. The management service is divided into the following phases in the Federal Support Programme:
